Africa's Hope: Helping others help themselves

Wake Up Africa

I have been visiting this site for some time now I love to see the practical actions that can be put into place and change a million things.

to give you a taste before you get over to their site:
Every day women and children in Africa and Asia walk an average of four miles to collect water. During March 2008 we are urging you to take practical action and Walk for Water - so that they don’t have to.

This year is the International Year of Sanitation and 22nd March is World Water Day. During this month we are urging you to take practical action and Walk for Water so that they don’t have to.

We are trying to get as many sponsored walks happening throughout the UK as possible. For this we need your help. You could walk to your local shop or hike through the countryside; it’s really up to you. All we ask is that you get as many people involved as possible and raise as much as you can. We’ll support you every step of the way and send you your very own fundraising and information pack and a Practical Action T-shirt. Contact us to find out if there are any walks that you could join in your area.

Note: If you are reading this post and you know your community needs help, you can do something, first by sharing information. Please learn to share not only money but knowledge as well. This way we will build a better knowledgeable community
